Setting a LISTSERV Password
If you have previously set a LISTSERV password for your netid@tennessee.edu
email address (not netid@vols.utk.edu
) then you can skip this section and proceed to unsubscribe below. You may also follow these instructions if you have forgotten your LISTSERV password

- Enter your email address in the form
netid@tennessee.edu
, e.g. jruser@tennessee.edu - Enter a new password into the Password and Password (Again) fields. The minimum password length is 6 characters.
- Click “Register Password”
- You will receive an email with text similar to this:
Your command: PW REP ******** requires confirmation. To confirm the execution of your command, simply click on the following link: https://listserv.utk.edu/cgi-bin/wa?OK=ABSD123 Alternatively, if you have no WWW access, you can reply to this message and type OK as the text of your message. If you receive an error message, try sending a new message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UTK.EDU (without using the "reply" function) and type OK 3E2BFB43 as the text of your message. Your command will be cancelled automatically if LISTSERV does not receive your confirmation within 48h. After that time, you must start over and resend the command to get a new confirmation code. If you change your mind and decide that you do not want to confirm the command, then simply discard this message and let the request expire on its own.
- Click the link to confirm your password. DO NOT use the email method to activate your password as your email will not originate from
netid@tennessee.edu
.
You can now use this password for any LISTSERV operations
Unsubscribe From a List
- Click on “Subscriber's Corner (also join or leave a list).
- Log in with your
netid@tennnessee.edu
address and your LISTSERV Password (see above). - Check the box next to the lists you wish to leave.
- Click Submit.
You should now be unsubscribed.
