====== Min Kao Conference Room A/V Equipment ====== The Min H. Kao building has several conference/seminar rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. The following instructions pertain specifically to the following: * MK 118 - capacity 12 * MK 235 - capacity 12 * MK 354 - capacity 12 * MK 434 - capacity 16 * MK 435 - capacity 40 * MK 639 - capacity 12 ===== Support ===== - At the first sign of trouble, please seek professional assistance immediately. - Your first line of support for Min Kao conference rooms is the [[:|EECS IT staff]]. EECS IT support is available during business hours. - If you cannot reach EECS IT or it is after business hours, contact the OIT Help Desk at [[tel>865-974-9110]]:\\ 7:30am-8pm Monday-Thursday\\ 7:30am-5pm on Friday.\\ OIT will provide support for EECS conference rooms. Do not attempt to re-cable or attach cables to the PC or TV to try and fix a problem. ===== Event Support ===== Get your important event off to a good start. If you have an important event planned, contact the [[:|EECS IT staff]] as soon as possible so we can arrange on-site support assistance. An IT staff person will assist visitors with laptops and address any technology problems. ===== Connecting a Laptop ===== The camera cannot be connected to a laptop. To use the camera, see the Room PC section below. - When you enter the room, find the wall panel and turn on the TV by pressing the Display ON button. - Press the Laptop button on the wall panel. - Connect your laptop to the HDMI cable at the table. Legacy VGA connections are also available. - For audio, TV volume can be adjusted at the wall panel. - Adjust your laptop video settings as needed to obtain a good image. Given all of the different PCs and Macs that people use, your experience may vary. This is where you will likely need some [[:|assistance and training]]. - When finished, disconnect your laptop and turn off the TV at the wall panel by pressing the Display OFF button. - Lock the room as you leave. ===== Using the Room PC ===== - When you enter the room, find the wall panel and turn on the TV by pressing the Display ON button. - Press the PC button on the wall panel. - Using the wireless keyboard and mouse in the room, login to the PC. The PCs are Windows-based and attached to the UT Active Directory domain. A valid NetID and password are required to login. The first login will take a bit longer while your account is setup on the PC. - A Zoom client is installed on each PC as well as the usual Microsoft Office software. The Zoom client is setup to use the camera, microphone, and speakers in each room. - Adjust the TV volume using the wall panel volume control. - The camera remote can be used to pan, tilt, zoom in/out, and adjust for lighting problems. - When finished, __PLEASE LOG OFF__ the computer, but __DO NOT POWER IT DOWN__! If you don’t log off, your sensitive data will be at risk. - Turn off the TV at the wall panel by pressing the Display OFF button. - Lock the room as you leave.
